Blog Assignment #3
I learned so much from linked in. Before, I only ever saw my dad use the website and I did not know it was for professional connections. I now know that it is a great platform to promote your skills and experience for the public professional world to access.
The Summary can replace your objective. You can talk about your skills, background, experiences, and goals. You can talk about where you are headed and what industry are you interested in.
The connections are very interesting because these can lead you to other people and you can connect with people you may have not met personally but other people you know have met.
The most important thing I learned about is University page because that connects me to other people that went to CBU.

Blog Assignment #4
I learned that you can compile as many locations as you want into one map. What is really interesting is that you can add layers to your map if you want to have numerous places, therefore the viewer can hide some types of locations. Click here to see my Google Map
The first useful thing I learned in CIS 265 if how to use the autofill feature in excel. Talk about saving time! I used to enter everything one by one, adding it in my head. I will use this now to make spread sheets of things like money management or other things. The second useful thing I learned was how to use google drive. I never really used to use it before but now I know I can store it there and it wont disappear on accident. I will use that throughout college definitely because if I need to look at an old piece I've written, I will have it all in one place. The third useful thing I learned was how to use word more effectively. I never knew exactly how to adjust indentations and set tabs, but now it is all clear to me. I really need that for APA formatting and setting up my papers because that will save me points when my professors grade formatting. The fourth useful thing that I learned was how to use the blog feature. I honestly never knew I could have my own free blog so that is interesting. I have used other sources like tumblr, however, blogger allows me to make a more professional blog if I ever wished to do so. Maybe in the future I could create a professional blog. The fifth useful thing that I learned was how to use transitions and animations effectively on powerpoint. Not only did I not know how to apply them on my presentation, but I did not know that overdoing was unprofessional. Now, in the future, when I have other presentations for other classes, I will not overdo it.
I honestly enjoyed this class very much and I feel like I learned so much. If anything, I would say that the assignments were tedious but they were necessary for us to learn all the features. Sometimes while doing the homework, I got confused because I had a different version of word. That was my fault, however. Maybe you could stress from the first class that there is a way to get the updated Microsoft programs for free.
